About Ahtis Energy & GridOn™
Ahtis Energy is building the digital infrastructure that will help power South Africa's evolving electricity market. Through GridOn™, our energy settlement and wheeling platform, we are helping municipalities, energy traders, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and large energy users automate the complex administration, settlement, reconciliation, and reporting processes required in modern electricity trading.
South Africa's energy transition is creating an entirely new market. Much of the industry still relies on spreadsheets, manual calculations, disconnected systems, and labour-intensive processes. We are building the software that changes that. This is an opportunity to join at an early stage and help shape both the product and the company.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a highly capable Full-Stack Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex business problems and building practical software that customers use every day. You will work directly with the founders, energy specialists, municipalities, traders, and renewable energy stakeholders to transform real-world energy market challenges into scalable software solutions.
This is not a role where requirements arrive fully documented. You will help define the product, design solutions, build features, engage with customers, and contribute to the long-term technical direction of the platform.
What You Will Do
- Design and build new GridOn™ platform capabilities.
- Develop backend services and APIs.
- Build intuitive user interfaces and dashboards.
- Integrate data from utilities, municipalities, energy traders, and IPPs.
- Automate settlement calculations and reporting workflows.
- Participate in product discovery and customer feedback sessions.
- Work with AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
- Contribute to system architecture, scalability, and security.
- Help establish engineering best practices and development standards.
- Support platform deployments and cloud infrastructure.

- Indicative range: R50,000 – R80,000 per month
